Default x pipe eating gas

I recently put an x pipe on my 95 mustang gt. I thought the gas mileage would improve but I am now getting about 8 miles to the gallon. The exhaust sounds great but I can't figure where the gas is going. When I park it in the garage I can actually smell gas but there is never any on the ground.
Any ideas?

It only started draining like that once the pipe was put on.

hmm....did you break any gas lines or anything when you put the pipe on? or knock any lines loose around your fuel filter or anything?

did you use new o2 sensors? if there too old or if you damaged 1 it could be reading wrong, if it thinks the car is running lean it will dump fuel pretty bad.

My dad and I are working on it. He is the one who took it in to have the pipe put on, and he said something about a line, or tube, I'm not 100% sure how he explained it, but it was connected to the old H pipe and the guy who put it on didn't know what to do with it. I need to find out more from him as to what that was. I know it wasn't a Co2 sensor, but not sure what it was.

Doesn't a check engine light usually come on when its running rich or lean?

i dont think the o2's could make gas mileage that bad. ive seen 460's get better gas mileage than that. i went for awhile with bad o2's and i could tell a little difference in the mileage but 8mpg is just crazy man. ive never seen one that bad.
