My new build has H beams, they are incredibly strong.. I have Forged H beams in my car, the stock beams are I beams.

if you break 4340 h-beams, i'll eat my hat!- but its really hard to break forged i beams too and the advantage of I beams is weight, though not much it is still rotating mass and if you can scrape any weight off your drivetrain it's never going to hurt you. how fast do you want to go? 9's? dart block? if not i beams are going to be strong enough- you will crack the stock block before you bend a connecting rod

I agree, scat makes a nice I beam rod that will exceed the 5.0 block for strength if that is what you are building on. The I beam is lighter and will help the engine wrap up quicker when you get on the loud pedal.

Maybe I been looking in the wrong places but, where I have been looking the "Lightweight" forged I Beams are more expensive than forged H beams, so I have been going with the H beams.

Very true, but the regular 4340 I beam rods(not light wieght versions) are less money, and exceed stock block strength and are a little lighter than H beam stuff.
