I have $1385 to spend on parts for the Cougar. The 5.0 aftermarket is so huge, I really don't know where to start. I was thinking gears, headers, intake, and the swap to H.O. along with change from speed density to mass air. Or just saying to hell with it and throwing NOS on it along with the gears. I race at the local 1/8 mile track and do a lot of daily driving(I deliver pizzas) but the stock 3.08 gears ain't hacking it. What do you guys think?

 

i would get the intake and exhaust modified. look into some headers, o/r x-pipe, cat-back (good for sound too), and intake manifold as a good start

 

if you dont have a hella lot of miles on your car then go with a nice upper n lower intake, shorty headers unless you like long tubes, some heads, MAF unless you already have it, and you can go from there

 

3:73'S 76MM MAF.HEADERS, 2.5 EXHAUST..lighten up the car...battery in the truck,drag radials when you go play...cam is needed nothing big just something with a lil tighter C/L the help it rev faster as that's a heavy car

 

sell it and get a mustang or make sure that you keep the stock cougar stuff if you decide to get a mustang later, you can transplant the good parts to it.

 

save your money for a used blower

 

Buy a beater for a work car so that you dont beat the hell out of this 5.0 delivering pizzas.With any serious mods it will cost you to work by the time you pay for gas.
