Default Tires RUBBING Whats problem?

OK here's the prob, my mustang has 225/60/15 on the front (which I thought was stock size) but rubs when i make a tight turn or a fast turn. Also I had the same size tires on the rear but i was bottoming out and actually cutting the tires with my fender into the sidewall. I ended up switching the back to 215/65/15 as i blew my 225s and had to get tires quick and only hd about 80 bucks on me at the time. These seem to bottom out less but are still getting cut when i hit a big dip. So am i running the wrong tire size or does it soud like another prob? I have only had it for 6 mos or so and am not sure if the springs are tired or cut or what might be causing this??? PLZ... ANY answers are very appreciated THX!

mine has 225/60/16s on it and i have no rubbing probs. Do you have aftermarket wheels? If so, id say the backspacing is all wrong, because with stock wheels you should have no prob.

i believe they are aftermarket they are locking caps that say "BOSS". Also the back rims seems like deepdish or something because th space from the star part to the outer rim is 4 in and the front is under 3. How would you backsace? how much would it cost to be done prof?

i dont think you can do anything but get new wheels. or roll up the insides of the fenders if you like your wheels.

Hey Tim do you have 225/60/15, is that stock? also do your back tires bottom out? Has anyone had this problem where the fender cuts into their tires when their back bottoms out? I shouldnt even be bottoming out should I? I was thinking about getting drag airbags for the back would this keep it from bottoming out? or do i need new springs or something?

backspacing is the distance from the outer edge of the wheel to the point where it bolts up. different wheels have different backspacing. the difference in backspacing is what makes some wheels stick out more than others.

Maybe my back tires are spaced too much than. They stick out in the back about an inch or so from the fender but i wasnt sure if it was because of the style of my rims since the back ones seem to be deeper from the outer edge to where the star symbol on the inside of my rim is by about 1 inch as well. Would any tire shop be able to tell me if my backspacing was wrong? Also if my car has been lowered how would i tell? If i take off the rims and check the springs would there be a clamp compressing them or..? Also the same with checking if they have been cut? THX for the answers guys!
