Hey guys i have a 1990 mustang gt quick question and tell me if its ok or not i read that the t56 "6 Speed" tranny fits in the car i really want a 6 speed and also would like to know if the tranny is stonger the the t5. i know its bigger and i have to modify the drive shaft but tell me if its worth it. thx

different driveshaft (shortened should be $60-100 including rebalance) and I think you need a different cross member.

 

im pretty sure you need a new bell housing....

 

how much $$$ do you want to spend? If you want your car to be able to handle alot of power get the G-Force T-5 upgrade kit comes with almost everything to let your car handle over 600lbs of torque. So if you want it stronger that is one way.

 

i plan on doing the T56 swap. AMP sells the kits. everything you need. yes the T56 is stronger by alot. you can also upgrade to the viper t56 which is supposed to be bullet proof.

the reason i want to run this setup is cause im doign a TT setup and i currently have 410s.a T56 has the first 3 gears low and then the others are for the highway. a good around tranny


also the swap from a AOD to a T56 is 3200 bucks
