just wondering what is the biggest size tire that i could fit on my 92 gt. i have all the stock rearend componets but im thinkn bout takin off the quadshocks and getting me a some upr uppers and lowers controll arms. but im not sure on whats the widest tire that i can fit, without doing any kind of modding like cutting stuff up. im running the stock 16" pony wheels. would appericate any input thanks.

I was able to fit 275/45/17 in the rear. I had to bend the lip on the pass side just a hair (about 1/8 of an inch) but thats only because that a different than original fender. But the drivers side fit perfectly. Now of course you will have to remove the Quads

275 40 17 is what i have on the rear of my 91, they fit without any mods. In the front tho, the 275's wouldn't fit right, kept rubbing the inner fender had to use a 245 45 17 in the front. They both equal the same diameter, just a slight difference in the foot print.

yeah i guess that is what i have is 275/40s not the 45s I fit 255/40 in the front, but under a hard corner with a big bump, or just a big bump the rub a little

ponies are just 7" wide, dont really want to go more than 245 wide with them

^^7.5 you can get a 28inch tall and a 10.5 wide in there, hows that?

i ran 255/50r16 on ponys on rear before.

Some people say you can fit 315's in the rear on a 9 inch rim.
I don't know if that is true though.

i dont think so cause 315's are like 12.4" wide, so thats gonna be a big bulge on the edges

you sure its not 7 inch. i always thought the pony rim were 16x7. never heard they were 7.5
