Default power steering

can i run the power steering rack with out the pump cause its about to go and i dont want to spend the money on a new one when im going to be putting a FR in soon. i just wanted to know if it will have to much stress on the steering box or anything

I did it it mine, just looped the hoses together off of the pump. It wasnt a permanent fix. I went to advanced auto parts and bought a manual rack and 2 new manual tie rod ends. Way cheaper than the flaming River parts. At the time they offered a connector piece to go from the power steering rag joint to the manual rack. That eleminates the need for the new manual steering shaft. I am not sure if the adapter is still available or not.

im just going to take the hose off all together and the pump and ac and just run a shorter belt i wanted to know if i could just run the rack with out the power with no problems i dont have the money right now to go out and buy a cheaper rack anyway i need to save my money for when i fly to florida in 3 weeks

I have been doing it for a year and it was alright, but i didnt care since i new i was doing k-member and fr manual rack. I would say its fine because of my experiance.

Besides i would spend the money on the fr only because you get what you pay for with other products.
