Supercharger will set you back more like 6g's if you do it properly, you don't just put a supercharger on a stock rotating assembly, just asking for trouble. I'd say stroke it, make it a 347, then you have the the strength needed for the S/C, and you'll noticed even bigger gains when you start to put heads on it and do other mods.

6Gs For a Supercharger? Your trippin, You can get a Vortech SC-Trim for under 1700 and Just upgrade the Pulley for 8-10 Plbs of boost. Your looking at maybe 2Gs if anything.

1700 for the SC
80 For the Pulley
200 For injectors if you choose to change em
180 for Fuel Pump.

Now more expensive if you have it installed.

Oh and plus Its nessesary to get it tuned afterwards.

What about the engine build-up? Because it's not a question of "if" it's of "when" when you start using forced induction in an engine.

People run 8PSI on stock motors all the time.

He can safley run 6-8 PSI making around, 330HP and can add the Bolts ons later.
Nothing like the Wurl of the superchager.

You dont even have to change the CAM with induction.

I've seen lots of people run 8PSI on their cars, I remember a Camaro we worked on, got it one week, blew up the head gasket the next, blew up the motor the next.

I hate the sound of superchargers... and turbo's at that... nothing like the sound of an N/A stroked car

That is a tough call.
If your engine has been well maintained then i would say go for the supercharger set at 6 to 8 pounds and get at the minimum a 190lph pump with 30 pound injectors as well as recalibrate your maf.
One thing you will have to remember is your going to need a chip or (my suggestion) a custom flash with a dyno. That will set you back a few hundred dollars but it will be worth it. "And it will be safe"
Doing the supercharger to me would be the best option at this time.
Later when you get some more money you can put together another engine." while your driving it now"

You can blow a head gasket on a N/A engine just as easily as you can a forced induction engine, It's all in the tune. I wouldn't just buy a chip, do like I did and pay someone to come and hook a laptop up to you car while your on the dyno and get it tuned. I payed $300 for the tune plus $100 for the dyno time and was WELL worth it. Thats why I was able to run 13psi on a stock 110,000 mile motor. TUNE IS EVERYTHING!!!!

I voted for NA. Yes, the supercharger has lots of benefits but your talking alot more cash. 3K for the supercharger, tune, injectors, pump, etc. I agree that theres nothing like a supercharged car, etc. etc. but I would do the heads/cam first and than blow it.

supercharge it...like it was said your cobra's top end will flow well enough and you will see way more reliable power than a new top end kit. a sc will easily bring your stock motor to its power limits so you won't need to worry about upgrading the top end until/if you're ready to build a new motor anyway. just think how you will feel after spending 2g's on a top end kit and then you get spanked by an otherwise stock motor with sc. just make sure you go to a reputalbe tuner, it's all in the tune

liquid 02 do you realize 80-90% of sc'd mustangs still have a basically stock motor and most of them have zero sc related problems other than spinning the tires get you're facts straight man
