Black Magic Electric Fan

Black Magic Electric Fan
I have a black magic electric fan. I know these are common fans amogst the 5.0'ers, so hopefully i will find an answer to my problem here.
The fan isnt kicking on til about 190* to 208*. I have the thermostat adjusted to the 180* mark but it just isnt coming on. Should i move the fan a lil closer to the upper radiator hose so i can put the thermostat bulb closer there or what should i do. I have the fan mounted as close to the middle of the rad as possible, and the bulb as far to the upper hose as i can get it. I really noticed the power gain from switching from the stock fan clutch to an electric and I dont want to get rid of this fan. Any advice would be helpful.

Fair enough, move it up to the top more, you want it as close to the coolant as possible like the middle of a rad is going to be dead cold, but the top and sides where all the coolant is is going to be hot so closer you can get to that, the better.

its in the first row of fins less than an inch from the top of the rad....so think i should move it closer to the left tank or right or does it matter...the reason i ask is bc i ran all the electrical line and i hide 99% of it so i really dont have enough room to move it to the right without splicing some wires in there.

the instructions on mine says near the upper hose as possible i think, [93 mustang]this is the one on the passenger side coming from the thermostat. do you have the cap cover on the probe to help hold the temperature in the probe? good luck.

yeah punch that sh*t through the radiator as closed to the upper tube as possible then cap it. you should be fine... you can always pitch the black magic fan and get one with out the Tstat on it. then just buy aftermarket tstat and relays and hook it up yourself. <- you might be able to find an adjustable system that can go below 180*.
