Default 5.0 Running bad need help

Hey guys. I sold my 96 GT a while back and just picked up a 85 GT from my niegobor and the thing runs like crap. it is the E.F.I H.O. motor with the dual snorkel air cleaner intake. I checked the plugs and wires and they seem to be in decent shape. I checked the cap and rotor and the cap is loose and the rotor seems a bit dirty. and I think I will check on the fuel filter later today.
When I drive the car it feels like it bogs out at WOT for a little while and when I get on the gas it feels like it misses or bogs a bit. I want to get this thing running right because it currently has no power and I want to use it as a daily driver. Any help would be appreciated

Why not try replacing your cap and rotor since you said there's a problem there?

my 95 5.0 did the same thing, it was horrible. I replaced everything and couldnt find the problem. Then i cleaned my mass air flow sensor, then boom, my car hauled ***. Couldnt believe it. I dont know what kind of set up you have, I dont think you have a mass, but you have to have something that tell your computer what air/fuel ratio your receiving

replace the coil, cap and rotor and still havint the same problem. The Idle is also going from 250 to 900 when ever it feels like it. Anyone have any idea what that could be?

Don't know much about the 85, but does it have an IAC and TPS? Might want to check those.
