Default Broken Carb Stud

I have an 88 Mustang 5.0 and managed to strip the manifold when taking one of the 4 carb studs that haden't moved in 15 years. In-lue of replacing the entire manifold or retapping the hole (becasue to my knowledge, then a sighlty bigger stud is going to have to be used and may not fit through my carb body), I am looking for some very stong cement or other bonding adhesive that will hold the stud in-place even through the vibrations of the motor. Any sugestions?

Heli coil it, but I am a little unsure what it is that you are repairing. Is this thing EFI or carbureted? I never heard of a Carb stud on an EFI car. just curious.

Thanks, yes its a carburated car, im running a Holley 600cfm (if i remember correctly) It mounts up to the manifold with the following spacer and stud kit from summit:

http://store.summitracing.com/defaul...=egnsearch.asp

I have never heard of Heil Coil but after doing a little reasurch it looks like exactly the solution i need. I just need to know the size of these studs, so i can pick the correct cooresponding Heil Coil Kit. Any recomendations on which kit to buy, and/or do you know what size these studs are (Its not listed in the summit product des.) ?

Is the broken chunk of stud out of the hole? If it is, heli-coil it. I don't remember what size the carb studs are though. I want to say 1/4-20 but I think their bigger.

And in 88 your car had EFI...unless somebody changed it to carb'd.

Loc-Tite makes a product called 'thread saver' or something like that you could use. You will have to have busted part out of manifold of course....
I think you can get the stuff at NAPA store ...........
