suspension would be nice but the fox is lighter than the sn95 especially the 98gt version that is one of his advantages. There are many versions or ways to modify a mustang but for a quick race then he should go with gears, cai, 65mm t/b and 75mm maf and if money permits upper and lower intake manifold all of this courtesy of ebay not bad for an $800 dollars budget.

GT-40 intake and heads? Gears would be nice in there too, but probably put you over the top, depending on the deals you get and who does install

I would go with a set of 4.10's and control arms becuase there is no way if he just does 4.10's that hes going to have traction.

I have a 92' LX 5.0 hatch, Which is an AOD, with the timing advanced to 14 Degrees 1 5/8" headers and stock everything else: exhaust intake motor...
My friend has a 98' GT 5-spd with a CAI o'/r X-Pipe and a ford racing exhaust, and he has wide Pirelli tires...
I smoke him every time, most of the time he burns out and then he has no chance... But even when he hooks good i am like 3 or more car lengths ahead...
When i got my car it ran real crappy, i finally figured out that one of my fuel injectors wasnt working, when my car was running on 7 Cylinders he was right next to me when we raced....

First off, I think my neighbors kid on a bicycle can outrun a '98GT. They're one of the slowest Mustangs produced in the last 20 years. For safety sake, tell your friend that nitrous isn't going to blow his **** up and for him to just buy an easy to install kit. If it's supposed to be a motor vs motor run then, for $500, buy a 2lb nitrous bottle and hide the kit....
