So your having a tuner tune your car? They will burn a custom chip for you.

Well, make sure your car is running right before you take it there. You dont want to go there, get your car up on the dyno and have it not run right...

yea.

i only have 30 miles on the motor so im gonna put 1k more on before i go to the dyno.

i just rebuilt the motor and put heads, cam, intake on it. along with all new gaskets and oil pump.

i got it running, drove it around for a day and when i was coming home the oil pressure suddenly droped. when the rpms are above 2k the gauge reads full oil pressure and when its below that the gauge goes to zero. i put a mechanical gauge on it and it show the same thing.

i am going to pull my motor again tonight to check out the pump and oil pick up tube. but i dont know what else it could be. i replaced all the bearings and freeze plugs. i also got the block hot tanked and cleaned

how much does a dyno tune cost usually (including the chip)? And would it make much of a difference if i took my car there with the mods i have right now? I gave it a basic tune job (plugs, wires, rotor, cap etc.) when i first got it about 8-10 mos ago, but havent done anything since i have done any mods.

If you do drive it just be careful... low oil pressure is not a cool thing. If you are driving and its reading at 15 or below dont drive it.

Well you can go ahead and get a dyno tune and all that. But honestly, I went that route with my car, and by the looks of it we have nearly the same engine setup, and I am more than happy without a chip. I had a guy tune mine with a custom chip...still wasnt running right so I ended up taking it to another guy, he took the chip OUT changed the plugs and wires, set the timing, and dynoed it again and it pulled another 50rwhp...put the custom chip back in, and it dropped 35rwhp.
I guess if your confident in your tuner, go for it. But you really dont need a chip with this setup. At least not for the money it costs to get one and tuned.
