Default Headers and exhaust

That darn heavily-leaking power steering system (that I just replaced with a manual r&p system) used to splash tons of fluid onto my headers and exhaust. Now the fluid is caked on and has a less-than-desirable odor once the exhaust heats up. So, how does one clean ceramic-coated headers and stainless steel exhaust? I'd like to take some simple-green and a wire brush, but will that hurt it?
