I tighten mine down till there pretty snug. I haven't had a problem. Theres probably a correct torque rating.

start on the top center bolt, go to the bottom center bolt, than go to top right, bottom left, top left, bottom right. and just make them snug.

I don't really think it matters much with those cork gaskets. As long as you get them tight and squished down, oil shouldn't come through.

cork is going to leak if you have good oil pressure and flow, if you drive it all the time in a few months you will see it leaking.

Mine are cork and they haven't started leaking. I put them in during september and I've put 4000 miles on the car since then. I haven't re tightened them since either. I did use rtv around the gasket but I don't think that matters much.

i found it. the correct rating is 10 ft/lbs. after i changed the gasket and put everything back together, it smelled like my engine wa burning a little oil. i drove it home from my dads, and when i got home i decided to just drive it around a bit, and it starting shaking. i know this feeling. it feels like one of my plugs isnt firing. could oil foul it out? i dont even know where to start.
