actually Tim a solid roller will rev higher, but your right about less cushion on a miss shift (more likley to bend a push rod or break a rocker stud). Generally speaking a solid is good for high rpm, high hp applicatons. With a solid there is usually more wear and tear and they usuall only come in pretty agressive profiles. IMO unless this is a real track or weekend car, that already has good heads and big gears, just stick with a hyd. roller.

does a solid roller require solid lifters? is that the whole point behind the "solid" name?
