electrical crap
Hey y'all,
I just bought this mustang and found out it was an engine swap after I bought it. I'm not too heartbroken about it cuz it runs great but some electrical does not work: parking lights, blinkers, hazards, and windshield wipers. The car is a 93 but I know the engine isn't, but I don't know what year the engine is. The wiring on this thing is pretty messy, any help would be appreciated.

RE: electrical crap
Is it fuel injected? Does it still have the MAF sensor and functional air bags? Because that's really the only thing that changed with wiring throughout the years, so if it has those, all the wiring should be good.

RE: electrical crap
It is fuel injected, the maf is intact and working but I'm pretty sure the airbags are not hooked up, at least the drivers (steering wheel is aftermarket). I put a new flasher in and that didn't work, maybe I'll just try changing the bulbs, I just didn't think that all 4 would be out at the same time.

You know, I should have mentioned this earlier, but there are three wires not plugged in when I remove the steering column cover. I assumed one was the horn and one was the airbag, the third is probably for the blinker lever, but the parking lights still don't come on with the headlights.

Just noticed that all your problems are related to the wriing to your steering column, does your column have air bags? from the pic it doesn't look like it, looks like an older one. The previous owner might have changed it for one reason or another. Check the electrical connections on the steering collumn, but personally, I bet you have the wrong column because of all this. I'd also go ahead and check the fuses, which I bet you've already done anyway, but just a suggestion.
By the way, very nice car

Aha whoa that was kinda trippy, connect 'em up. Check your headlight connector, I would pull out the switch and check the parklight portion with an ohm/volt meter, see if your switch is working as it should

A convertible GT for 2300 in that condition just doesn't click in... and it looks like it's ridin on 18's too like jebus, those rims and tires would've damn near costed that. That car would proabaly sell for 6 here if it's as nice as it looks in that picture, with a ratty interior (can't see your interior, but if it's nice, that car would probably go for 10) like damn... I bought a car for 500 for the chassis, another with the motor and trans for 600, another for the rad support for 350, another for the interior for 1100, add those together and it's... 2550... and that's not including the 800 frame straightening/radsupport cutting and welding in/primer and paint in the engine bay that i've done so far... and now I just got a used bumper for 250 and used foglight bar for 70 and need fenders and fender extensions yet... + primer and paint the car... so I'm lookin at like 7g's and I built it myself.... eep.
