RE: Cobra to good to be true?
Well I cant say that isnt a nice looking car... but flying down to Texas to check it out may not be a bad idea. After all whats $2-300 when your spending $5-6 thousand after title and taxes?

looks to be in great condition, but i would still want to take a look at it in person to make sure he didnt skip an area he didnt want u to see. Also u can test drive it and make sure it is in good working condition. Doesnt sound too much like a scan to me but its always a possibility.

sounds like a scam to me. the use of a 3rd party is designed to protect the buyer. if the seller wants to use one, dont let him pick it. if he insists on a specific one, i guarrenty its a scam. its very easy to make your own pretend escrow page with paypal. just because he knew where teh car is registered, doesnt mean anything. im a criminal justice major at school. last year i had to do a report on this exact same thing...heres what my paper was about:
a guy bought a mercedies for $40k from someone out of state. the seller insisted on a specific 3rd party for handling the money. the buyer got a vin and did a car fax. the car was where the seller said it would be. but what really happened is that the "seller" who has never seen the car he was selling, found an add for the car on the internet. he called teh real owner of the car and asked for the vin number and pictures. then the scam seller sent the pics to the buyer and the vin. because the scam seller new where the car was, he was able to tell the buyer what city it was in and when the carfax report matched, teh buyer sent $40k to the 3rd party. turns out, the scam seller made up the 3rd party through paypal and the guy never got his car or money.
thats a true story. had to research it for a paper. dont let that happen to you. just because the guy knows where the car is, the vin number and has pics, doesnt mean he owns it. i wouldnt buy it unless you see it or at the very least, you pick the 3rd party escrow service.
just my 2 cents

Thats why u fly down there. And meet with whoever is gonna be selling the car face to face. You Make sure u can test drive it and they have the title. Its pretty hard for them to be able to do all that if its a scam. But i would Definitely NOT buy it over the net with never going down to see it personally and test it out. If he wont agree to let you ome down and drive it than its a scam. If he agrees and you check it out and they have papers, its not. Good luck man.
