Default Question for all the CONVERTABLE Owners

OK i need to know why my trunk is being soaked. When it rains and i start going all that water the sits on top of my roof all slides down the back nd seeps in through where my back window and top meet up. It then goes into that pace behind the back seat where that liner thing is an finally into my trunk. My liner thing behind the back seat is torn so maybe thats why it gets in the trunk, but even if it werent wouldnt it still create a big pool of water behind the seat? I am wondering how to seal this off so water doesnt get in my car... has anyone else had this problem? Also i can stick my hand in through my top if i rub my hand along the back window horizontlly until it meets the top and slip under that flap it goes right into my car. Is this normal or...??? Any answers are greatly appreciated!

the way the top is attached it seals back there.

Your top is cracked and split open at that bottom seam.

time to get a new top.

original?

i am not sure... wouldnt doubt it tho. The place it is getting in is the verticle seams that are on either side of the window under the flap there. Is that what you were talking about? So if you run your hand horizontally with the window until you fingers go under that flap they dont end up in your car? LOL i kno it sounds terrible. And yes i do nee a new top. So if i get a new one those verticle seams will be sewn up?

just there so you dont see that ugly empty space the top folds down into

yeah, your back glass will be completely sealed and sown up.

tops arent too bad, $500-$800 installed, make your car look lot better too.

when mine was leaking I got a $200 all weather car cover to put on for
when its raining real hard and just sitting.

Common problem w/ 83-93 Conv’s, could be the top needs replacing but there's also a drainage system in the trunk that sometimes gets clogged.
Water is supposed to drain down the back of the top through it and out the bottom.
You should have that checked first.
