question on the 87gt

does anyone have a stock 87 gt and if so could u tell me the top speed on ur speedometer

87 should have 85mph speedo,

they went to 140mph speedo in late 89 or early 90

what does that mean that an 89gt is fast in the 1/4 or that it will run faster only in a highway can anyone answer that

No, it just means that they didnt make gauges that went past 85mph before 1989. It has nothing to do with the motor/power/speed, etc.

Actually... I think that stock for stock a 87+88 are faster than a 89+.

yeah, no rev limiter or anything past 85, it just peggs out speedo.

at least you can honestly say " No sir I dont know how fast I was going" lol

LoL haha yea thats a good excuse... just be like "nah man I dont know how fast I was goin yo... my speedo tops out at 85.... DAMN man!" while rolling your eyes and giving a hard stare hahah
