3k @ 75 mph isnt that high. i usually shift at 4k+...but im usually pissed off because people cant drive the speed limit, and i figure i need to pick up their slack.

i forgot you had a aod. dont listen to me ramble.

its an auto. i agree with tim and get the 4.10s. also ull notice that for 3.55, 3.73, and 4.10s all use the same (white) 23 speedo gear.
Mine took a black 20 tooth for 3.55s.

the reason it says that is because there is no bigger tooth count than 23.

and 23 is too much, they wear out fast and have the wrong pitch, they are not made by ford , they are from chrysler, for jeeps.

an aod has the drive gear machined on the output shaft.....you have to replace the whole shaft to replace the 8t w/ a 6t drive gear. then you need the correct driven gear. a t5 still needs a teardown, but clips on the OP shaft

a 23t driven w/ 4.10's would be about 15% off still, but closest you can get w/out a tranny teardown.

i think only swapping from 3.27's to 3.73's is a big mistake, especially in an aod, i had 2 aod cars w/ 373's and they were still running mid 14's, one broke into the 13's w/ 100 shot ( it was a 'vert) which is pretty poor.

go 4.10's..at minimum 3.90

good call on skipping the intake, since it would add about 7 hp, and knock about 1 tenth off your ET. useless w/out new heads

I dont know if your talking about the aod but i have the white 23 tooth with my 4.10's and a 5spd its only off about 1-2mph abviously not 15%. i checked it side by side with a truck a few diff times and it cam out to be about the same.

Yeah we're talkin bout the AOD. Okay boys, 4.10 it is, I'm going with the motive gears for 109.00. I'm just going to go ahead and start peicing these parts together. I'm going to get most of the stuff from mustangtuning.com, the trac-loc rebuild from 50resto.com and that's it. I can't wait, oh and the 23 tooth gear from steeda. I really hope that it isn't 15% off
