does an underdrive system hurt your alt output really bad if you have just a stock stereo system? i want to do underdrives but i'm afraid of having it drain the power too badly.

try hooking a digital volt meter up to your batt with the stereo and heat or a/c on if it drops in near 12 volts i wouldnt put underdrives on.

I have this problem too but not as drastic. I run into problems with my heater on full blast at night with the lights on and the strero pumping. Its ok when you run above idle but when idling voltage drops like mad. I upped my idle to 900 RPM and its much better. When I was having problems my idle was set at 500 RPM.
