Cause a rich condition, no not realy. It will cause the car to ping though.

okay. well initially i would try to time it and it would be off the gauge, turns out dizzy was off a tooth or two. No big deal, I move the rotor back to where it should be number one on top dead center, and everyting was lined up perfect, the balance was at zero and we were in business. So i though, I go to time it again, (with the spout out, on number one wire)) and i'm at like 20 degrees and could advance still further and I don't know what thats about.

A fuel starved motor will blow apart because of detonation, a motor running rich wont hurt anything other thrn performance and gas mileage

Like mentioned above, it can soak the cylinder walls and clog the converters. Pretty serious problems in my book.

I'd definetly get your timing back down around 14 degrees and go from there...

thing is though, it wouldn't really be at 14 degrees, theres no way I should be able to be above 20 w/o any pinging even on 93 octane, thats what I mean by its all f'd up
