hahaha, pretty much what it is!!.. Actually, it never did it till i put the equal length shorties on it, and if you look in the pic, it's almost right where the heat would rise from them. Maybe that could be the issue?? I still have the hood liner intact though, maybe just too much heat under there for some old paint?

The one i have (CJ Pony parts $37.95) installs with the 3m tape (not included, buy from any parts store) and came with a cheezy little paper template that you have to cut out yourself with sizzors.

After i had the template taped in place i took a sharpie marker and marked out the hole i needed to cut, then broke out the trusty ($20) jiggzaw and cut it out. I haven't installed it permanately to the car yet (waiting on my new hood) but it took about 15minutes to install.

the hole you cut doesn't have to be super precise either since the cobra grill covers up any imperfections in your cut. Good luck!

EDIT: Oh yeah, BE CAREFUL on your bottom cut (close to bumper) because my jiggsaw made a little rub mark on the bumper. Im painting the car soon, so it isn't that big a deal to me, but if you like your paint, take care in your cut on bottom.

Wait they give you the piece to attach to the bumper, then you cut the old piece according to a template correct? Or you mean you cut the factory to look like a cobra? $38 for template, or both? ALso what is the part number, I have been looking at getting one. Was wondering, do you pretty much end up repainting the bumper cover if it is done, or is there a way to fly by just paint it, then adding it itself?

ok for 38 bucks you can get the grill (no emblem for middle though, +$20 with emblem) and the template you need so you can make an accurate cut on your bumper skin. Look at my avatar to the left, then take a look at my very first post picture and you can see where i cut the bumper. Then scroll down a bit and you can see the grill that i bought from CJP installed (actually it's just setting in there, but some 3m double sided tape from a parts store will attach the grill to your car. You can do some body work and feather it in to look smooth with the bumper if you got some skillz, or pay a good body guy to do it for you and get your bumper skin painted.
