blow me
well im back to work may first, where i work 100 hour weeks, for 2-3 months, and usually rack in around a good chunk of cash every spring., i need to put away 2 or 3 grand for school... so it leaves me with 3k for my car motor (canadian)
i was looking at some motor for sale locally used, only one i like and its 4k, and i building one would cost me a right nut. but i found a guy who can give me a 5 psi powerdyne kit, for 2k shipped, i figure it sounds like the best way to go..
for around 3 grand or a little over. i can buy that, new gasket kit, double roller chain, port and polish my stock heads, trick flow stage one cam, valve springs, and a typhoon intake, bigger maf and tb.
i was thinking it might pull 350 to the flywheel.
so when i go to work you wont see me for a few months.. but when im back i quite possibly might be blown.
any comments on the setup or the blower feel welcome.

RE: blow me
2k for a powerdyne with only 5 psi? Is that used or new? Cause on ebay you can buy a new 9 psi one for 2k and they give you a FMU and new fuel pump, all you need is a MAF and bigger injectors. They also sell a 6 psi kit for 1.5k with the same stuff. Ive heard mixed reviews about powerdyne, some good some horrible, so it leads me to think they have a QC problem, BUT they do offer a 3 yr warrenty and they will fix it so its a +.
One of the advantages of going S/C vs all those engine mods is that with the S/c driveability and durability stay good, where as once you start modding a daily driver heavly with H/I/E/C little things break and cause down time and more $$$ to fix ect.
Id personally go S/C, especially once you start doing more mods, you will get more HP for those mods. So like N/A headers may give 15-20 hp at the most, where as S/Ced you'll gain 25-30, even more if you get porting done on the head ect.
Just my .02
