sometimes when i put it in reverse it grinds what could that be? Only in reverse others gears are fine. (stick shift) thx

 

Syncros is first/obvious guess.
I don't know if the T5 has syncros on reverse though. Some trannies don't and WILL grind a little bit from new.
If you ease it in with low pressure, with the car having been fully stopped for a few seconds and it STILL does it, then you must have issues.

 

Reverse is not synconized. Before you put it in reverse, go to 5th gear then reverse, that will fix your problem.

yeah, mine does the same thing, just put it in 4th or 5th first, clears that right up

 

any forward gear then reverse will fix the problem

 

yeah. dont be like this idiot up the road from me. he has a 93 cobra and it would grind going into reverse. Ford told him it was normal and he didnt believe it. so he basically put 5000 dollars into his tranny to fix it. needless to say he doesnt run a t-5 anymore
