yes good idea to get new pushrods.

you will need to have it measured to make sure you get the
right length push rods for that head and rocker combo.
pretty important they are correct legnth. your performance shop
can tell you more about that.

also think about changing your cam with the heads,
good cam is only $250-300 more and will really take the
new heads to their full potential.

the heads should come with the pushrods i think. if you can fork over the extra dough why not buy the trick flow top end kit? and just send the heads off to a reputable place to have them machined and cleaned up. a kit will usually be better because the parts are designed to work together

I considered the topend kit, but if i can get more power off of putting a kit together than i would rather go that route. What do you guys think i should do?

well the parts in a kit will work better but you will be able to pull more hp out of piecing together parts. how much hp are you looking to build?

Not real sure yet. It is my DD, so nothing super rediculous. I would like to have it be somewhere in the 11s on pump gas when im done, but im not sure if thats practical. After i build the top end i might supercharge it, but im not sure if the stock block will be able to handle that.

11 second et's dude!!! thats crazy. it is a bit impractical but it is do able. i would say just go for the kit man. its not like your car is going to be all drag you know. an since it is your daily driver i would definately suggest the kit. i am thinking about getting it. plus you know that your car has parts that run together. with the kit alone you would be pulling about 70 hp! ad some u/d pulleys from steeda or something and you will be making an extra 10 hp bumping it up to about 80 hp. unless your building a block i would say go with the kit its easier and cheaper considering all the crap you get, such as new plenum and heads and manifold
