Talk me into it...
I have a chance to buy an 89 LX for 7-800 dollars, over 200,000 miles, but I would want to rebuild it anyway. Now, I have always been a sport compact guy because I am more into autocross style racing than dragging, but I was thinking this might be a fun project.
I'd like to have a pretty good idea of what this is gonna cost before I get into it though, because I have college to pay for before long, and don't have an unlimited supply of cash...
Thanks for the help...

Definitly get it. There are lots of ways you can do this project. You can do a stock rebuild of the motor.. performance rebuilt, etc. Stroke it, bore it. If you want a nice street cruiser on a very strict budget this is what you do.

If you want to get an idea on what it'll cost.... you need to go visit some of the sponsor's of this site(right hand column).
Here's some links to the stuff I think you might want to look at: www.maximummotorsports.com , www.brothersperformance.com , www.summitracing.com , www.50resto.com .

Any rough guesses on the cost?
I'm trying to weight this against a Civic Del Sol Si with a GSR motor swap... I realize each has its own advanteges, and that is why I wanna get an idea on the prices...

RE: Talk me into it...
i wouldnt get a del slow even with a gsr engine. you could buy the fox, and rebuild the motor for pretty cheap. drive it for a while, then go to maximummotorsports.com, and buy all of the suspension parts you need and autocross it. thats kinda what i want to do with mine. i love autocross racing.
