ya i got the button, thanks guys. When I was under there, I noticed the thingy that the key goes into isnt connected to the locking mechanism. Theres like half an inch of space between the two. Is there supposed to be a shaft that connects them?

Sorry, I don't quite follow.

The thing you put the key into(silver cylinder) and the locking mechanism(brass/copper looking piece) aren't touching/arent connected.

There is a thin piece of plastic with a spring wraped around it (it looks like a popsicle stick) that slides into the lock and then into the latch. If yours is missing or broken you can probaly substitute it with something similiar. Take it apart first then see if it just fell out.

No Im talking about the locking device directly on the hatch. The glove box is just a couple screws. I changed all of mine out right after piant. Its the only reason I know all this stuff.

ok so the lock in the hatch just spins in a circle? does the hole thing spinn or just the inside? it may not have the retainer on it.
