BELT SIZE

RE: BELT SIZE
Why not just keep the A/C? It's pointless to eliminate it, the new pulley's going to have as much drag as the A/C unless you get the kit that moves the power-steering up, but still, you're going to notice zero gains by removing it, lower the cars re-sale value, and be screwed on a hot summer day. just my 2 cents.
Anyway, are you getting a S/P eliminator kit, or are you just re-routing it? For you A/C is the P/S pump going to be moved, or is it going to add an extra pulley where it used to be?

RE: BELT SIZE
I installed the FRPP a/c eliminator (one that moves the p/s pump up where a/c used to be). I ended up making a couple trips to the parts store to find the right one, but you can just tell em you want the belt for mustang without a/c and it should be close. Mine ended up being shorter than that belt by about an inch (make sure it puts your tension pulley about the same spot it was with the a/c on it, it should only be about 1/2" lower). Im still running my smog pump, and this is the belt number that finally worked. Start out with it, and then tell the guy at the parts counter if you need one a little longer or shorter.

RE: BELT SIZE
Yeah, you can ballpark it with string. I had to make 2 trips to get it right, and I think I ended up in the vicinity of 70.5 or so, with UDP. So use some string to start with, buy that belt, and if you get the correct range for the tensioner you're all set. If it's out of range, buy a slightly smaller/bigger belt. Good luck.
