Default Code scanner

hey all i was wondering what is the best kind of device to get to read teh codes of my stang. i am farely new to this hole thing but am interested in seeing what codes my puter puts out w/ out taking it to a shop. what type is the easiest to read and wheres a good place to pick one of these up?

I bought an Auto Xray universal OBD/OBDII scanner and it works great. Easy to use, easy to hook up. I got it at Schucks, so it was a little over-priced, but I didn't want to wait for anything. I paid $200.
