well... here's the problem... my strategy is to eliminate what I can prove to be good and what I can't is what's wrong... it works 80% of the time. So I can't really give you my opinion without performing tests... but no, i'm 99% positive that it is not your fuel pump.

my best guess says its NOT the pump, if it was, youd be suffering from more than a drop in pressure.

this is what the entire sending unit looks like, the pump is on the bottom where the strainer attaches (yes its laying on its side in this pic)

The rubber hose that i mentioned goes from the pump to the sending unit itself

this is what a typical fuel pump kit looks like... the rubber hose shown here on the right could be your problem.

so if i got a new FPR and its not the fuel pump is the only other option the injectors? It seems like leaky injectors might hurt performance...?

well depends... it should cause one or more cylinders to run rich... Without having a leakdown test to see the results and the pressures I'm in the dark.

what are the chances of a leak down? most of the time if a injector is bad it will tick.

had an LS that had a 3 # leakdown, just enough to cause a terrible vibration and dropping of a cylinder, traced it to a leaking injector... funny thing is the last mechanic that had it had the same problem... and he replaced the engine for it... ready for the funny part? he used the same injectors from the old engine in the new one... ended up replacing 3 injectors due to the dumbass not using silicone when sliding them in place.

yeah, it was another dealership... guy got his car back after having his car fixed under warranty... and it started doing the same thing... said **** em and brought it to my place... i'm the gas engine specialist so they gave it to me... took me like 25 minutes to realize what happened... best thing is that I hate that other dealership... they always produce **** work and get away with it... they didn't get away with nothing this time... their warranty claim for like $6500 got declined because they didn't fix the problem, we did... so ours got approved and they had to eat all that up... sweet irony.
