Temp

RE: Temp
in my opinion you dont want to run without one .... if the beast overheats & the stat is functional the stat is not the problem.. .. sometimes in certain situations especially on older vehicles when all you had to do was take out to bolts to get to the stat .. it could temporarily get you out of a jamb if you took the stat out... thats the only reason I could think of.

You don't over-heat without a t-stat.. you run a hell of a lot cooler, ran my car without one all summer (it stuck so I just cut the center out for the time being) till it started getting cold outside and needed heat and had to go replace the t-stat. My car normally runs at about 105, without the t-stat it was running about 60-70.

RE: Temp
haha yah, it kinda sucked. Like normally by the time I get to the highway (I live in a suburb) my car is starting to blow warm, which is about a mile of driving. Without the t-stat, it didn't start blowing any warm until I slowed down in the city (about 15 miles) :\ it's a long drive in like -5 weather, you wouldn't think that's so bad, considering it's like -30 outside on a regular basis, but i don't know, the cold just gets to you so much faster in a car.
