Default differential question?

The other night I learned how to do a brakestand in my 89 lx 5.0.. Out of the 6 that I looked four were possie one of those started single. And the other two were a one tire burn. I did multiple dounuts at one time going around to the left which I assume is the primary reason my right tire is balled and my left has a lot more life to it. A mechanic said it was normal and the right tire is 60% and the left is 40% and that the car loves to fishtall turning left and not right. To his knowledge my differential is normal. Is this correct and if not is there a better differential I should consider buying when I put my new gears 3:73 in?

have your mechanic replace the trac-lok while it's getting the gears swapped. this will fix your one tire fire and allow you to fishtail to the right.

Default RE: differential question?

to my knowledge My differential is working properly. I got 65,000 miles on the car. If I rebuilt it then it may be the same. 4 out of 6 breakstands were possie. 2 were one tire burns. what bothers me is how it dosn't kick out when turning right. Is there such thing as 100% equal power delivered to each wheel?
