Default stroker kit

Guys which is better a 347 or a 331?
I know a 331 would "bolt right in" and a 347 will need the block notched for the rods to clear.
Is it worth the effort?

i went with the 331 - the loss in cubes is made up for with strength and efficiency. Rings wear quickly with the 347 and the 16 extra cubes is not worth it. My two cents.

Are you using the stock block? Or did you find a Mexican Block? I couldnt find a Mexican 302 so i went with a sportsman block from ford

i like my 347. more cubes the better. the new kits are just as efficient as the 331.

347 will give you most power

331 keeps orginal 302 valve geometry or something like that
so its easier long term on all the moving parts.

I always hear more cubes = more power, but less weight = faster revs. I think it is a trade off some times. Built 302 will out rev a 347, it will have less power, but get into it quicker.

I am using the stock block. They said that the stock block will go up to 500 Hp. Is that true?
