Hello my friends,

I'm seriously considering removing the rear sway bar from my '90 GT. Mainly, for just weight purposes. My main question is, does anyone NOT recommend that I do this? The front sway bar has been off my car for about 4 years now and I really don't even notice that drastic of a difference with it off?

I'm currently running Centerline rims with 4" skinnies on the front and 15 x 8.5's on the rear (w/ET Streets). Reason I mention this, is that I'm certainly not worried about hangin' a turn at 60 MPH, but just mostly straight line performance. I've had my car almost 10 years now and it is DEFINITELY not a daily driver anymore with all the modifications that I've done. I should also probably mention that my car has an 8 Point Cage with custom Sub-Frame Connectors. I'm not sure if those two things really make any difference regarding the removal of the bar? But it's just a thought.

Also, does anyone happen to know roughly how much a rear sway weighs? Just curious.

Thanks, in anticipation,

Andy

I think you should take it off ( and then sell it to me!!). Mine didn't have a rear sway on it when I got it so I couldn't tell you the difference.
