Default What To Buy?

Ok so I am new to the whole muscle car scene( use to be into import tuners).

I own a 1988 Mercury Cougar with a 5.0 Fuel Injected 302 v8.

I'm looking into upgrading this motor a lot.

What am I looking at getting for now is a new cam, noisy gear drive, heads, headers, intake, and a new exhaust but like I said I am newer to the whole 302 scene so I was wondering if I could get some input on which cam, heads, headers, etc.. listed above I should buy to get the most power for my car.

Thanks, Taylor.

Why a cougar, thats a heavy *** car man...?
And as far as all that fine stuff, whats your price range.
You can build a basic GT40 motor that ford offers as a crate engine for like 2,000
B-cam, 1.7 Roller rockers, Ford X303 Heads, all that stuff 24 lb injectors and stuff, cobra intake.
They say its rated at 345 Crank HP. Proabbly 270 to the wheels, and if you get it chipped you can make another 30

It's Actually Not All The Heavy After I Gutted It Out. And For Being A Big Car It Moves Quick.

I was thinking about getting a cam, ford shorty headers, 1.7 roller rockers, a pair of flowmasters, gear drive, heads, and a new intake..

How does that sound for now?

i think it would be cool, a real sleeper. get a good top end kit from edlebrock or trickflow. and slap it all on a forged 347 shortblock.

I like that. I saw a 4.6 Tbird the other day that had some work done. It was pretty cool.

Look at the TFS stage 1 cam, AFR 165 or Trickflow Twisted Wedge heads, and a Holley Systemax or Street/Track heat intake.

Ok so as of right now, I have exactly 250$ to spend on parts for now(more cash coming later).

What should I buy that would show the best performance?
