Runnin
...at the track for my first time tommrow. I'm spraying 100 shot on my 5.0, and there is detenation comming from the motor, so I bought Bosch Platinum spark plugs, they say they are PRE GAPPED, and I checked the chart and it said thier 80. I was told to gap them at 40. Whats the deal? They say thier pre gapped but probably not for a power adder right? Thanks.

Yeah, it says in the manual if you hear it, shut the nitrous down cuz you'll need new spark plugs.

you need spark plugs that are two steps colder than the auotolites #25 (can't remember what the number is), bring timing down to 8 degrees and run premium.
also make sure your fuel pump is up to snuff.

i'm not sure whether or not you can use those plugs. however, if you're uncle is running those with nitrous they should be okay.
by timing, i mean ignition timing.
stock is 10 degrees. it is common to advance the timing a few degrees for more power.
timing needs to be backed off when running nitrous. start at 8 degrees.
unplug the spout plug. (little gray plug, on wiring harness hanging off the distributor.) loosen the bolt that holds the distributor in place.
crank up car, and check timing with a timing light. rotate the distributor until timing is at 8 degrees. shut off car, tighten bolt, and plug the spout plug back in.
about the gas. you should really run 93 octane with nitrous, especially on a 100 shot. it will help with keeping it from detonating.
good luck
*edit*-evidently platinum sucks for nitrous. use autolite coppers.
