knocking
i got a knock in my motor when its at an idle. do you think i should stop driving it and do an engine rebuild? its a stock 5.0 and i dont have the money right now to do anythin serious for a motor. i was planning on doing something after i graduate and work full time for a couple months. it will be my first time takin out the engine and doing a rebuild.
I don't know about cars in particular, but on bikes, if it's only knocking at idle, and the knocking doesn't speed up with rpms, it's probably not spun crank bearings or a busted rod. Even though it's knocking, how is the idle quality? I've heard slight knocking sounds on engines that aren't firing all of their god-given cylinders. Hopefully your knocking isn't bad news.
