For anyone who needs references to what parts will work with what. Here is a list 79-93 Fox and it`s pretty long Sorry for the large post but very good info. Here is a little guide to help you customize your mustang or capri.
Front Bumper Cover or Noses: When changing front end make sure you have the right hood.
79-82 Mustang All use 79-82 Hood
83-84 Mustang & 85-86 exc SVO use use 83-86 Hood
87-93 use 87-93 hood
79-86 Capri use 79-86 capri hood
If you use a 87-83 front bumper cover on a 79-86 besure to get a front wiring harness out of the junk yard so you can splice it in.
Side Body Moulding and Bumper Covers: So if you change the bumper covers you will want to change mouldings to match.
79-84 Mustang Mouldings use with 79-84 front and rear bumper covers
85-86 Mustang Mouldings use with 85-86 Mustang front and rear bumper covers
87-93 Mustang Mouldings use with 87-93 Mustang front and rear bumper covers
79-84 Capri Mounlding use with 79-84 Capri Front and rear bumper covers *79-83 capri rear bumper cover is same as 79-84 mustang and moulding are same except for 79-83 capris have hard front side mouldings with side markers and 84 capris have front and read mouldings with sidemarkers. 84 capri has bubble hatch and uses different bumper cover.SEE HATCHES below.
85-86 Capri mouldings use 85-86 Capri Front and rear bumper covers. the rear covers on these differ from 85-86 mustang because of bubble hatches.
Hatches and rear bumper covers and taillights:
79-82 Mustang Taillights are all the same. Can use any 79-93 Mustang or 79-83 CapriTailights on these**
83-84 Mustang Taillights are all the same(same as 85-86 but differ in trim color). Can use any 79-93 Mustang or 79-83 Capri Taillights on these**
85-86 Mustang Tailights are all the same. Can use any 79-93 Mustang or 79-83 Capri Taillights on these.**
87-93 Mustang LX Taillights are all the same. Can use any 79-93 Mustang or 79-83 Capri Taillights on these.**
87-93 Mustang GT Taillights are all the same. Can use any 79-93 Mustang or 79-83 Capri Taillights on these.**
79-83 Capri Tailights are all the same. Can use any 79-93 Mustang or 79-83 Capri Taillights on these.**
84-86 Capri Taillights are all the same. To use other years must change rear bumper cover and hatch to mustang or early capri style.**
** wiring changes maybe needed when changing taillight years.
79-93 Mustang & 79-83 Capri Hatches are all interchangeable.
84-86 Capri Hatches are different and use differnt bumper cover: To use differnt hatch on these you must change taillights and rear bumper cover too.
Cowl Panel Grilles: Need to match with right style hood. all cowl panels will fit all cars but to keep the look right follow this guide:
79-82 Mustang & 79-86 Capri are the same cowl panels: if you change to a 83-93 hood use the 83-93 Mustang Cowl Panel Grill.
83-93 Mustang Cowl Panels are the same. Can use any 83-93 hood with these.
