Charging System Won't Kick In

Only shows it's charging when you first start her up, when Idle kinda high, then as she smooths out it stops charging, this is thee third battery in a year, any suggestions

are you sure it isnt your underdrive pulleys causing it.

Check your alternator,
all your connections including the ground.
Could be your voltage regulator is bad, but it usually puts out high current when bad?
If you have an uprgraded stereo, it's prob. your alternator.
Your 91 should run without a battery
