Default Changing right motor mount--easy or hard?

Just wondering whether I can change my own motor mount at home, rather than bringing the car to a shop.

i would do it at home, do you have a cherry picker to lift the motor a little bit?

I don't. Can you do it with a floorjack?

Where are my manners! Thanks for the reply.

The easiest way is to put the car up on jackstands, then lift engine with jack. The job is very easy. It will probably take as long to put it on jackstands as it takes to swap the mount.

Thanks Tapout. So you change the mount from underneath the car rather than from on top?

yes, from underneath. Put a 2x4 or something between the oil pan and your jack to help disperse the weight a little. I would also replace both of them while your doing it....your post sounded like you were just doing one

i took a block of wood and set it under the harmonic balancer so i did not bend the oil pan.

Thanks folks. I'm only changing one because the other was changed about two months ago. I didn't have the money to do both at the time, so I just did the one that looked the worst. At any rate, thanks for the tips. I may try to talk my neighbor into helping me this weekend.
