If you gradually build up in rpm's do you still experience the problem?

The reason I ask is I have a similar problem. But if I gradually work up to the higher r's, the problem doesn't seem to exist. Dunno? Much more noticable in third gear though as apposed to 1st and 2nd.

So what was the cause? Was it valve float?

that's what summit/afr/rich anderson/jay allen told me....i asked alot of people...my fuel psi never dropped....

had my other gauge hooked up so i could see...that was the first thing i thought was lack of fuel.

excessive load hurts weaker springs....also my timing chain was totally stretched.

Gotcha. Yeah, maybe that's what I have going on. Any ideas on how to find out for sure?

Yes, its possible as long as you have compressed air.

You will need the spark plug adapter... usually no more than 5$, although Lisle makes one for 14 and 18mm plug hose with 0 rings and a 1ft rubber hose for about 10$. You can get these at a pepboys, advance, Strauss etc. Anyway, Pressurize the cylinder with the compressed air at 140-150 PSI. Make sure you have an adequate compressor (a small nail gun pancake type wont work) because any drop inpressure means the valve can fall into the cylinder. Youll need an overhead valve spring compressor... not one that looks like a C clamp, the one that looks almost like a 2 jaw puller if u will. The air will hold the valves in place, compress the springs, and replace. Make sure you DO NOT LOOSE THE KEEPERS!!!!!!!!!!!!! They are a bitch to find
