PLEASE HELP! Tuning problem
I had my 88 in the shop for a new head gasket. Its up and running now but when you stomp the gas, when it gets to around 3-4rpm the car seems to loose fuel. If I just accelerate normal the car will rev to red line no problem, its only when you stomp it. The car has a vortec blower, if any one could help let me know. The timings set at 10 degrees, before the head work the car didnt have this problem.

Some people are telling me that I should convert my stang to mass air, and that should fix the problem. If i get the mass air sensor will I need to get a new computer, since mass air wasnt installed on the 1988 5.0s. If this is the case does any one know where I can get a ecu from a 1989 Gt. Please help!!
Yeah i would up-grade. SD is old school tech, MAF is much more exact in
telling the computer how much air is really coming in and you have more
options to get the EEC tuned.

I see used computers on ebay all the time too. you want a Ford EEC-IV for mustang 5.0 HO

Did you have all the bolt ons before the head gasket problem? Ran good right? I know the mass air is better to have with your mods, but if it ran fine before, there must be something else. If you get the kit, it might not fix your problem and it won't give you more power.
