0 Oil Pressure :-(
Well, My project of 2 months now finially came together. I had the tranny and everything back in yesterday. I rebuilt the entire motor, but I used the previous oil pump due to lack of funds, I just simply couldnt afford it. Well yesterday I had a minor ignition problem, I took care of that today with a friend of mine. We got the motor going good, valve train sounded alright which I was happy about since I wasnt too confident about my adjustments. So we got her started up after it turned over only two or three times. My aftermarket oil pressure guage picked up 0 pressure, I pulled off the filter and it was dry as a bone. The pump drive shaft is locked into the end of the distibutor, i'm possitive about that.. I pulled the plugs and let it crank over for 30 seconds and it was still dry no oil was being pushed through the oil filter hole. Luckily She only ran for 20 or 30 seconds and I cut it sine it had no pressure. I'm just really bummed out, I dont feel like pulling the motor again, I'm sure I can just jack it up and get it going but it still sucks pretty bad. Well if anyone has any ideas as to what may be causing this ailment, I would really aprecaite it. Thanks alot for the help, and if you have any words of wisdom to aid me in continuing this project please enlighten me.
Take care all

RE: 0 Oil Pressure :-(
pwnd by the going the cheap route and not getting a new oil pump. From what it sounds your oil pump locked up and your dizzy twisted your pump shaft. so now instead of buying a oil pump like before, you have to buy a oil pump AND a shaft! and you gotta take the motor out again! sorry dude
