ok i went and checked tps, it was .87 moved it to .97 and undid battery. started back up and same problem. the thing is i can pull that plug off the vaccum tree(the one i put on from the map sensor) and let it suck air and the car will pretty much idle fine just little high maybe but put the plug back on the surge starts again. any thoughts on that?

Yep... normal, that's the way the system controls (raise/lower) the idle speed, by having the IAC regulate a vacuum leak at the throttle body....you may want to go over these maintenance steps (base idle setting/TB, IAC & MAF cleaning) and let us know how it does afterwards.

well went through the steps provided above, and have drove the car twice and i have no more idle surging. I think the dirty throtle plate was my problem, it was black around it. i may have my idle set little high now though its running around 1000rpm what do you guys recommend? thanks for the help.
