Default Block

Mods please don't move this... I'm not getting enough feedback in the 351 section. Anyway, at the end of summer I'm going to buy a World Products 351 Man O War block. Which deck height/bore should I go with? I'm looking at 9.5in and 4.115 bore. I want to run a Vortech or Procharger at 8-10 psi and AFRs. Will this be a good block for my future setup?

I dont think you will need a block like that but yes its a great block. Honestly, if you had a 351W w/ AFR 205's and some other bolt ons w/ a procharger you could probally handle that on a stock block.

351w stock blocks are good for 750 crank h/p. keep the revs to a min.

Thats what Im saying... I have seen people run almost 800 horsepower through a prepped 351W. Not saying thats reliable but if you can run 800hp through one than 600 will be no problem. And if you really feel uncomfortable with a stock 351W than just make sure that its a pre 74 block. They are alot stronger than 74+

That's not nearly enough boost to need a block like that. Save that money and put it into something more needed!! It's easy to find a 351W block that hasn't had any machine work done on it!!

Well thats great news... that saves me alot of my summer money. What/where should I look for a good stock block? Will one pulled from a junkyard truck or crown vic be ok? Or would i be better off with ebay

A junkyard motor should be ok. Like a previous post said, the pre 74 blocks are the strongest. Find one of them and you'll be good to go. If you do get a newer block, put a girdle on it, and go racing!!
