Default '95 rear brake pads

holy crap has anybody ever changed the rear brake pads on a 94 or 95? its impossible to rotate the piston back into the caliper...i even bought the special tool at sears and i still cant get it to turn. Any tips on this? Is it save to use wd-40 or something? Its really hard to rotate because the caliper is still connected to the brake lines and i cant get a good grip on the caliper.
