b cam problem?
i've installed my b303 cam straight up, is this the proper way or should it be degreed? i've always read in 'stang mags to install them straight up but i've been having a problem with my car falling on it's face from a dead stop. i've been tuning and tweeking and i ain't getting anywhere. a local race shop drove my car and said the cam is retarded or i have the wrong torque converter. i'm running a c4 with tci breakaway converter and 3.73 rear gears.

RE: b cam problem?
the converter is a tci breakaway that is 1000 rpm over stock. i can't find anybody who can tell me what the stall really is. i've heard anything from 2000 to 3000 rpm. when power braking i can only get 1900 to 2000 rpm until the rear wheels start to spin. i know ford sells converters that are listed as 500 to 800 over stock and they list the stall as 2500 to 2800 rpm stall so i truly am confused. based on my camspecs and the chart in summit a 2500 stall cam should be the right one for my engine combo

this is the only engine that has been in the car, really. i bought the car and it had a nonroller 302 in it with a 2 bbl and was originally efi cause there was no fuel pump on the timing cover or even a provision for one. it had a hooley blue pump bolted to the d/s inner fender
