Default 86 Mustang GT Nose replacement

Hopefully someone here can help me answer this question. I am looking at coverting the 86 nose to a 87-93 lx nose. I have heard from many places that the bumber cover for a 87-93 will bolt onto the 85-86 cars. Will it fit? Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Thanks in advance

You just have to change around the wiring a little bit for the headlights.

Yup!

Thats it.Hardest part will be making sure everything lines up ok.

At the most you will need to lengthen the wires for the headlights.

But hey if you arent happy with this motor or maybe dont have a lot of cash to build anything serious up now with the nose cone off would be a good time to do a cam swap and not have to pull the motor.

you will also need to get the 87-93 hood.

Well if the motor is almost out i suggest a rebuild or at the minimum an overhaul.

why do you want to get rid of the 4 eyes? i always liked the 4 eyes. its part of the 86 that makes it that little bit different. i have an 86 and would never consider changin it out. just my 2 cents though.

What are you going to do with the 86 nose?

i agree with matt0114. keep it as is cause those years are rare now adays cause everyone is changing them over to the 87-93 front ends. if you dint like the 4 eyes you should of got a 87-93 instead. save a future classic and sell it to some one that will appreciate the 4 eyed. i love the 87+ body style but i love the 85-86 so much more. to me its more of a muscle car look. if you lived closer to me i would trade you my 92 for your 86 any day of the week.
